Charles “Chip” White
Financial Advisor
Chip White is a native of Roanoke, Virginia, and the son of small business owners in the community. He gained valuable life experience early on by working in those businesses growing up. He enjoys working with people and helping them pursue their potential. His path through life demonstrates this as he was a teacher, camp director, and a district leader for the Boy Scouts prior to becoming a Financial Advisor.
He earned his bachelor’s degree at Virginia Tech for Music Education and Performance and his Master of Music degree from Florida State University. As the District Executive for the Boy Scouts in Greensboro, NC, and Senior District Executive in Roanoke, VA, he directed BSA camps and programs, including recruiting adult and youth leaders, designing programming, managing camp counselors, developing community relationships, and training staff. After several years of working with the Scouts, Chip felt called to make a change. He found that his love of coaching and educating people pairs well with his financial knowledge and desire to learn and grow.
Chip met Warren Bass through a mutual friend when first exploring a career in financial advising. They had a great conversation, and Chip impressed Warren with an early vision for holistic advising that was focused on helping clients. Warren was also impressed by Chip’s accomplishments that show a deep involvement with his community, a passion for learning and investing, and a love of teaching and counseling people towards success. Chip established himself as a promising new financial advisor at another company.
Chip joined Bass Financial Management in 2021 as a Financial Advisor. Chip immediately began learning the intricacies of Bass Financial Management’s investment process and its financial planning process. He made an immediate impact in the areas of marketing and improving the client service system.
As an advisor, Chip works with a range of clients, including many small business owners in the Roanoke area and beyond. He continues to be very active in the community. He is active with Leadership Roanoke Valley and serves on the Board of the Rotary Club of the Blue Ridge New Generations.
He and his wife, Katie, love spending time with their son, family and friends doing outdoor activities, such as shooting sporting clays, camping, fishing, hiking, golf, and hunting. They love to travel, especially to national parks where they get “out of sight of the road” and enjoy experiencing all the great creation that is around them.
